How to measure a carpet cleaning job
- Decide what one room means to you, for example up to 200 sq ft, and count bigger rooms as two.
- Heavy stains, pet treatment and moving furniture are extra time. Raise the minutes for those jobs.
- Setup minutes cover running hoses from the truck and packing them up again.
What this free version leaves out
Truck-mounted machines burn fuel while they run. Put that in the vehicle and fuel cost so it is part of every job. It also prices every customer the same way, whatever the season, the access or how the first call went. The full CrewBrain pricing engine takes those into account.
For the full method, read how to price carpet cleaning jobs, or see CrewBrain for carpet cleaning. To work out what one person-hour really costs you, use the labor burden calculator.
Questions owners ask
How much should I charge per room?
Divide the job price by the number of rooms for your own per-room number. The calculator builds the price from your real costs instead of a national average.
How do I price stairs?
Per step, because each step takes a few minutes of hand work. Count them on every job.
Should I charge a minimum?
Yes. A one-room job still needs the full setup and the drive.
