How to measure a Christmas light install
- Measure the roofline along the gutter. Peaks and gables add length, so measure them, do not guess.
- If the customer owns the lights, set the light cost to 0 and raise your margin or minimum instead.
- A second-storey roofline is slower and riskier. Raise the minutes for it.
What this free version leaves out
Light cost changes the price a lot. Some companies sell the lights, some lease them each year, and some only install. Change the light cost to match how you work. It also prices every customer the same way, whatever the season, the access or how the first call went. The full CrewBrain pricing engine takes those into account.

Questions owners ask
How much should I charge per foot for Christmas lights?
Work out your cost per foot, including the lights if you supply them, and apply your margin. The calculator shows the full price for the roofline you enter.
Should takedown be priced separately?
Many installers include it in one price. Either way, count it. Takedown is real crew time in January.
What minimum charge makes sense?
Enough that a small house still pays for the ladder work, the drive and the takedown visit.
